What is Bread and Butter?

Bread and Butter is BounceBit Chain's innovative cross-chain liquidity scheme, bridging $BB to major EVM-compatible blockchains and the Bitcoin CeDeFi ecosystem. This strategy builds on BounceBit's CeDeFi infrastructure, combining secure custody, asset management, and DeFi elements to enhance user engagement and ecosystem sustainability. Just as bread and butter form the foundation of a meal, this liquidity scheme establishes $BB as the core asset ("bread"), with liquidity pools and channels acting as the "butter," spreading utility across multiple networks.

How It Works

When users initiate transactions on their preferred networks (like Ethereum or BNB Chain), the Bread and Butter scheme automatically manages liquidity flow through integrated bridge protocols. The system maintains deep liquidity pools on leading EVM networks, where $BB can be paired with both native tokens (ETH, BNB, Polygon) and Bitcoin-based CeDeFi assets (BBTC, BBUSD). Each transaction contributes to balanced liquidity channels, with arbitrage mechanisms smoothing out price differences across chains - just like butter spreading evenly on bread.

Intent-Based Trading

The Bread and Butter scheme is built for intent-based users who want to access BounceBit ecosystem tokens from their native networks.
